JAVA ASIAN & STONEGRILL RESTAURANT
Java Asian & Stonegrill Restaurant was the culmination of a dream of Henny Handayani to establish an Indonesian style dining experience in her new home in Warrnambool. She originally had planned on an art gallery/coffee shop but when able to purchase the Koolix Ice creamery she took on a cookery course at South West Tafe and began planning her new venture. She made numerous visits to Indonesia to source the interior of the restaurant culminating in an original hand carved bar.
The restaurant is now offering Hennys own speciality dishes from many Asian countries including Indonesia, Thailand, India & Korea. She also introduced to Warrnambool the unique Stonegrill which is building a large following in Warrnambool and surrounding districts. She attributes the success of the Stonegrill to the high quality and consistent meat products from The Warrnambool Meat Barn and Midfield Meat, gaining compliments from Melbourne Diners that the steak products offered a better dining experience than at high end Melbourne restaurants such as Nobu & Rockpool Bar & Grill at the Crown complex.
Henny has further plans to continue the development of the restaurant and the food she offers with the aim of becoming a premium dining destination in regional Victoria.
